Tough times in DeFi. $600M+ drained in the last month. A reminder that the hardest problem isn't secure contracts. It's everything around them. Especially when running a serious attack no longer requires serious resources. AI lowers the cost of attacking every layer that sits around a protocol. RPC nodes, signing keys, vendor integrations, the people running them. One person with AI can now do what used to take a whole team. Defending that surface is the next stage of this industry maturing. Backing anyone can verify on-chain at any block. Validator and signer sets large enough that one compromise is not enough. Privileged actions that need consensus, not a key. This is a standard the space has to grow into together. The stronger the verification layer gets, the less damage any single compromise can do.
