Alephium

Alephium is a Proof-of-Work Layer 1 blockchain with smart contracts, launched in 2021 with mainnet live since then. The project uses sharding for scalability and targets security-focused developers. While technically legitimate with a working product (native token $ALPH, mainnet operational, ecosystem projects like Powfi DEX preparing for launch), the project is NOT early-stage: account created in 2018, 51k followers, multi-year operational history, and established presence in the PoW/L1 space.

Green flags: Working mainnet with real infrastructure (explorer, bridge, wallets) · Active development with weekly dev reports and ecosystem growth · Technical differentiation: PoW + sharding + UTXO model for smart contracts · Grant program and growing ecosystem (Powfi, Linx, Aura mentioned)

Red flags: Already established: 6+ year old account (2018), not early-stage · 51k followers indicates market awareness beyond scout circles · Multi-year mainnet operation disqualifies as 'early gem' · Well-known in PoW blockchain space, not a recent discovery

Alephium has secured a path to provide the assets required to cover the USDT, USDC, wBTC, wETH and wBNB drained during the bridge exploit. As previously announced, the ALPH needed to back the approximately 500,000 unbacked wrapped ALPH acquired by users in the aftermath of the exploit will also be covered. The internal review of the updated bridge codebase has been completed, and the codebase has been handed over for independent third-party review. On this basis, relaunching the bridge remains the preferred path forward, subject to successful completion of the external review and resolution of any findings it raises. Given that all users affected assets (both drained and unbacked) will be covered, bridge operations would be able to resume under normal conditions. Legal and criminal proceedings related to the incident continue in parallel. Further updates will be shared as work progresses. We would like to thank our community and all affected users for their patience, understanding, and continued support as we work towards restoring normal bridge operations and resolving the impact of this incident.

March to Mainnet Report 19/06 🏃 This week, core contributors have focused on security infrastructure, performance, and the final stages of Powfi contract review. We continue to work hard to get the bridge relaunched as soon as possible. As it stands, the internal review of the updated bridge code is complete, and is being handed over to a third-party auditing firm for review. Here is what has been worked on over the past week: <Frontend> ✅ Work is underway on a real-time security monitoring dashboard for the Alephium TokenBridge, covering USDT, USDC, WETH, and WBTC. ✅ This dashboard will provide ongoing visibility into the health and integrity of bridged assets, forming part of a broader commitment to transparent, proactive security monitoring across the protocol. ✅ The team has been running AI-assisted security audits across Alephium applications as a way to improve development workflow and complement traditional audit processes. ✅ An inconsistency in how the ALPH price was displayed across wallet interfaces has been identified and resolved, improving the accuracy of the information available to users (thank you to the community members that spotted it). ✅ Ongoing work to reduce the JavaScript bundle size across Alephium's web applications. ✅ Continued maintenance and cleanup of the frontend monorepo, improving code organisation and laying the groundwork for more efficient development going forward. <Backend> 🖥️ Continued progress on backend dependency management and database work, ensuring the infrastructure underpinning Alephium's core services remains stable and up to date. 💥 The team has completed a final round of review and fixes for the Powfi smart contracts. 🔢 The $ALPH pricing issue referenced in the frontend update has also been resolved on the explorer backend, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. The focus remains on quality, security, and readiness. More updates to follow.

March to Mainnet 12/06 🏃 This week, our Core Contributors have been pushing Powfi closer toward mainnet, maintaining key Alephium infrastructure, and continuing Bridge audit and remediation work in parallel. We are working to relaunch an improved Bridge as soon as possible, once all relevant measures are complete. Here’s your weekly dev update: <Powfi> 💥 Continuing internal smart contract audit work 💥 Finalising the referral system design proposal 💥 Completed Powfi and Crowdin integration 💥 Fixed Powfi SDK npm homepage GitHub URLs <Backend> ⚙️ Upgrading all Alephium dependencies ⚙️ Running a full audit of the entire codebase ⚙️ Reducing Explorer Backend database size ⚙️ Improving node WebSocket support <Wallets> ✅ Hardened in-app browser security ✅ Team sync on Explorer Backend data validity ✅ Improved transaction sending speed across both wallets ✅ Submitted mobile wallet v2.5.1 to both app stores, including: 1️⃣ Improved cold start performance 2️⃣ Improved perceived transaction confirmation speed 3️⃣ Fixed spinner animation position on data refresh <Misc> 📸 Took snapshots of all wALPH holder addresses and LP providers on Uniswap and PancakeSwap 📚 Researched referral program designs, contract requirements, key considerations, and integration needs for channel partners (see the Powfi update from earlier this week) 🔎 Reviewed current grant applications ⬆️ Upgraded Alphland nodes 🔒 Researched improvements to security monitoring for the Alphland Alert System 🙅 Removed /admin path from production website Our conviction and resilience are rock solid. Alephium’s core contributors have continued to deliver through all of it, and that has not gone unnoticed by the community. Your continued support is priceless 👏 Keep an eye out for upcoming Bridge and Powfi updates. More to come.
