Paper money can't keep records. Every bill you ever spent forgot you the moment it left your hand. The dollar is going digital, and along the way it picked up a memory, a perfect one. Who paid whom, when, how much, forever readable by your friends and/or enemies. It's an unfortunate outcome of how the initial rails got built. We seal letters. We close doors. We speak quietly in restaurants. No one thinks this is strange. Money doesn't need a memory. That's the entire pitch for private stablecoins: digital dollars that forget you, the way cash always did.

Another super bull case for private stables. Agents making thousands of payments a day will also generate exquisitely detailed maps of strategy, suppliers, and intent. It's a minute-by-minute log of your attention. All micropayments services have to be private, otherwise they just become an industrial espionage API.
