i used to think the only way to build a great network was to go to an ivy league school, grow up in the “right” circles, or be a trust fund kid from a major US city. but as someone who grew up with nothing, in a nowhere town in Buenos Aires and didn’t visit/move to this country until i was 20, i’d say you can build just as strong a network as any ivy league graduate if you really put your mind into it. cold dm people. show up. be curious. be hungry. do it over and over. a surprising amount of what feels “exclusive” is actually just consistency and initiative you can just do things
