i just survived by Gods grace 🥲
If there’s one experience I’m never going to forget, it’s the time my lecturer publicly embarrassed me in front of my entire class as a fresher.
The lecturer had me stand in front of everyone explaining myself after I stepped out to pee because he thought I wasn’t in his class, and when I tried to explain what really happened, it only made things worse.
He kept asking me questions, and at some point, when I realized he wasn't convinced, I decided to show him a photo of my desk from earlier in the lecture to prove I was there.
Instead of accepting it, he said I was lying and that the picture could’ve been taken at any time or even sent to me by someone else.
In the end, I left the class frustrated because no matter what I said, the photo just wasn't enough proof in his eyes, and the crazy thing is this isn’t even the first time something like this has happened to me.
I’ve been in other situations where a simple picture I used as proof ended up being questioned because people thought it wasn’t real or couldn’t be verified.
Honestly, I don’t blame them because these days anyone can edit a photo, reuse an old image, or claim a picture was taken at a different time.
If I had used a tool like @snaprootbyCH, I probably wouldn’t have ended up going back and forth with my lecturer over whether the photo was genuine or not.
@snaprootbyCH is a tool built to protect photos from manipulation by creating a unique cryptographic fingerprint the moment an image is taken and storing that proof on the blockchain.
This means the authenticity of a photo can be independently verified at any time, making it much harder for someone to dismiss it as fake, edited, or taken from somewhere else.
▫️How it works
Here's how Snaproot works:
Step 1: Take a photo
You open Snaproot app and take a picture of whatever you want to document, whether it’s an event, an important moment, evidence of something that happened, or even just a personal memory.
Step 2: Snaproot creates a unique fingerprint
The moment the photo is captured, Snaproot generates a cryptographic fingerprint of that exact image.
Think of it like a digital signature that is unique to that photo and that photo alone.
This fingerprint is then stored permanently on the Solana blockchain, creating an immutable record that the image existed in that exact state at that specific point in time.
Step 3: The image can be verified later
If someone later questions the authenticity of the photo, they don’t have to take your word for it.
The image can be checked against the fingerprint stored on-chain.
If the photo has been edited, altered, cropped, manipulated, or replaced, the verification will fail because it no longer matches the original fingerprint.
Step 4: Anyone can independently confirm it’s authentic
Instead of arguments, assumptions, or trying to convince people that an image is real, anyone can verify its authenticity themselves.
This is what makes @snaprootbyCH powerful.
It transforms a regular photo from something people simply trust into something they can actually verify.
In a world where AI-generated content, edited images, and misinformation are becoming more common, that extra layer of proof can make all the difference.
▫️Who can use Snaproot?
Pretty much anyone who wants to prove that a photo is authentic.
Whether you’re a journalist documenting events, a content creator capturing original content, a business keeping records, an insurance company assessing claims, or simply someone who wants to protect important memories, Snaproot provides a way to prove that your photos are authentic.
If you’ve ever had a photo questioned, doubted, or dismissed because there was no way to verify it, Snaproot is built for you.
One reason I love writing so much, aside from occasionally getting paid for it, is that it forces me to do research, and through that research, I get to learn something new every time.
+ I never knew what CLOB and LMSR were until I wrote an article explaining @meleemarkets’ PMM model.
+ I never really understood what SDKs were or how they worked until I wrote a Medium article explaining StarkZap by @Starknet.
+ I didn’t really understand what the @initia Reactor Upgrade was all about until I wrote a Medium article explaining it.
+ I didn’t fully understand how @scribble_dao helps brands get discovered in AI-generated answers until I wrote an article on why brands don’t appear in tools like ChatGPT and how ScribbleAI helps fix that.
+ I didn't know that Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Egypt account for the largest share of startup investment in Africa until I wrote about @TechNovasummit event.
+ I didn't know walletless swaps existed until I wrote an article explaining what @RocketXexchange is building.
I could go on and on.
Writing has paid me, connected me with amazing people, and opened doors but one of the things I value most is how much it teaches me.
Every article, thread, long form and short form post is an opportunity to learn something new.
As an individual looking to hire, would you hire someone who procrastinates a little but can work under pressure
or would you hire someone who works normally but struggles to work under pressure?
What would be your choice, and why?
