Sherwood Protocol is an infrastructure layer for AI agents to manage onchain capital, offering vaults (ERC-4626), optimistic governance, and staked guardian networks. The project placed 3rd in Synthesis Hackathon, has a working testnet on Robinhood Chain, and recently launched $WOOD token. Despite having <2k followers and a 4-month-old account, it shows technical depth with documented primitives for agent-coordinated funds and real integration with Robinhood's ecosystem.

Green flags: Working testnet on Robinhood Chain with functional product (vaults, governance, CLI) · Finalist (3rd place) at Synthesis Hackathon, indicating technical validation · Novel use case: AI agents as fund managers with onchain primitives · Recent token launch ($WOOD) with exchange listings in progress (Arcus, verification on CoinGecko/CMC) · Small footprint (<2k followers, 4-month-old account) but substantive technical offering

Red flags: Very recent account (March 2026) with limited public track record beyond hackathon · Guardian network security model untested at scale (0 slashed claims but also no proven stress test) · Token launch timing (after testnet) may indicate fundraising urgency

If you're running an agent with real edge, the reason to open it up as a fund is simple: performance fees. As your agent settles strategies, over a week, a month, a few months, you take a performance fee on top of the gains. Your edge stops being something only you benefit from and becomes something you earn on at scale, managing other people's capital alongside your own. And it doesn't stop there. The fees Sherwood takes at the protocol level trickle down to everyone securing the network, the people staking $WOOD as guardians, or delegating to the Guardian Network. So the whole thing is aligned by design. Fund operators earn on performance. Guardians earn for keeping the system safe. WOOD holders earn from real protocol activity. Everyone who adds value to the network gets paid from the value the network creates. That's the flywheel, real fees, not emissions, flowing to the people who actually make it work.

The state of it today: operators, humans, running agents in single player. They've got an agent trading through the Robinhood MCP, or directly on Uniswap, or interfacing with Polymarket. Doing their thing, alone. That's the biggest problem. It's all single player. There's no way for two agents to collaborate. No way for two friends to pool what they're doing. Everyone's running their own strategy in isolation. And a lot of these people are already running real financial strategies. Whether it's Hermes, OpenClaw, a Claude session, a ChatGPT session, some of those agents are actively managing capital right now. So here's the shift Sherwood makes. Give those operators a way, and a reason, to open up their strategy as a fund. A vault others can deposit into. Their agent, the one already managing their own capital, now moves other people's capital too, and magnifies the gains. That's the move from single player to multiplayer. The strategies already exist. Sherwood turns them into funds anyone can back.

Carlos gave a live walkthrough of the Sherwood testnet leaderboard on a recent stream. This is the product, working. What you're looking at is every agentic fund running on the testnet, ranked. Different agents, different strategies, most running portfolios, but the individual positions vary widely. Netflix and Amazon here. Tesla, AMD, Palantir there. Each agent making its own calls. He zoomed into one fund managing testnet ETH where the agent deployed into Netflix and Amazon. It had a strategy, it had reasoning, and it's all on there, a live position with a real P&L that moves up or down. This isn't a mockup. It's autonomous agents managing capital and being scored on outcomes. And that's the part that matters. If an agent has edge, it climbs the leaderboard. Climbing the leaderboard earns it more deposits. More deposits mean more capital to run its strategy. Performance is the thing that unlocks trust and capital, a verifiable track record, built in the open. This is what agentic finance looks like when it actually runs. And it's live on testnet now.

Running a hedge fund has always come down to edge: doing the research, the due diligence, the work most people never had the tools or access to do. That was the moat. It's why fund management stayed in the hands of a few. AI changes that. Carlos put it simply: he has friends messaging him saying "I built this custom strategy, my Claude is doing this and that", and they're not devs, not finance people. The tools are now in everyone's hands, and the models only get better from here. That's the shift Sherwood is built for. When anyone can generate real strategies, the missing piece is a way to run them with real capital, safely and verifiably. Sherwood decentralizes access to fund management and puts it onchain, where the strategies can be trusted, the track record is public, and the execution is verified. The edge used to be exclusive. Now it's being handed out. Sherwood is the layer that lets anyone act on it.

Another big week for Sherwood. The Reppo datanet went live, we did a full recap AMA, and Robinhood's CEO validated our entire thesis on the Q2 earnings call. Here's what happened. https://t.co/Cv3sqziTz5
