OddsFi's parimutuel engine holds the solution for building consistent liquidity on short-term prediction and betting markets. To understand why short-duration prediction markets fail in their current form, it is useful to contrast two fundamentally different risk models. In conventional prediction markets and automated market makers, liquidity providers assume directional exposure. They quote bid/ask prices, manage inventory, and rely on statistical edge and time diversification to earn returns. This model depends on being able to amortize risk across many trades and over time. At ultra-short durations, this amortization breaks down. Risk becomes highly non-linear. Volatility shocks dominate fee income. Inventory cannot be hedged or rebalanced before settlement. Even sophisticated strategies become brittle. In consequence, spreads and slippage increase dramatically. Parimutuel betting avoids this failure mode by reducing the liquidity provider’s directional exposure. Participants wager against each other. The operator takes a fee but does not speculate on outcomes. From a risk and all-in transaction cost perspective, this is superior for discrete events.

OddsFi today announces its intention to facilitate a 1:1 token swap from $HXRO to $ODDS, targeted for the week commencing January 12th, 2026. Under the proposed structure, holders of $HXRO tokens will be eligible to exchange their $HXRO for $ODDS tokens on a one-to-one basis, with no change to nominal token quantity as a result of the swap. Following completion, $ODDS will serve as the primary token supporting activities powered by the OddsFi ecosystem. $ODDS is designed as a deflationary token embedded directly into the economic flows of the OddsFi network. All protocol fees generated across markets, net of base network and operational costs, are programmatically allocated toward the buyback and permanent burn of $ODDS tokens. This mechanism is intended to align long-term token supply dynamics with network usage and revenue, ensuring that increased economic activity translates into systematic supply reduction rather than inflationary emissions. This planned swap represents a strategic step in the continued development of OddsFi’s event-based network infrastructure. By migrating $HXRO holders into the $ODDS token, the ecosystem aims to consolidate economic activity, streamline liquidity, and align token utility directly with the next generation of prediction markets, ultra-short-duration event products, and programmable market mechanics being developed under the OddsFi network. The swap is currently targeted for the week of January 7, 2026, subject to final technical implementation, security audits, and operational readiness. Additional details, including eligibility criteria, supported wallets and exchanges, swap mechanics, and final timing, will be communicated well in advance of the swap window to ensure clarity and an orderly execution. $HXRO holders are not required to take any action at this time.
